Sports News: The fourth day at Lord's was highly dramatic throughout. Scripted in such a way no one could've expected. India accomplished a unique record on day 4, achieving 7 bowled dismissals in one inning. This feat has never been accomplished before. India recorded the achievement in the second innings of the ongoing Lord's test. Another record created was that of 12 bowled dismissals in a match, the most by any team since 1960.
England's second innings accounted for 7 bowled dismissals. India's bowling looked disciplined and accurate throughout, helping them restrict England to under 200. On a tough Lord's wicket, the English batter did not really apply themselves and fell prey to India's attack. The 7 bowled dismissals in the second innings also helped India to break another record of most bowled dismissals in a test match, 12. India surpassed their previous best of 10, which was also against England in Hyderabad.
Washington Sundar himself accounted for 4 bowled dismissals in the second innings. Bowling with the slope at the Lord's, Washington bowled smartly. He did not get much turn but beat the batters with his accurate lengths and drift, which were on offer more often than not. He brought back the game in India's favor, claiming priceless wickets of Skipper Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, and Shoaib Bashir. The off-spinner finished with figures of 4/22.
Although currently placed in a tough situation at 58-4, India will look to come back in the game and take the all-important lead in the series, which is currently leveled at 1-1. India opener KL Rahul is playing cautiously, unbeaten on 33, and will be joined by the wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant at the start of the day's play. The duo stitched a remarkable 141-run stand in the first innings as well.
